Manufacture Manufacture of the profile steel elements for steel arch buildings

JM Steel steel arch buildings are structurally self-supporting, rendering an additional framework unnecessary. The steel arch is formed from several profile steel elements (7- 12 pieces) that are joined together with bolts. The length of a profile sheet element varies between two - seven metres depending on the model. Some of the profile sheet elements such as the connecting elements for the eaves and the ridge of the roof have been bent into an arching shape.

The parts of the profile steel elements are connected with bolted joints into the proper arch shape at the installation location. The useful width of a steel arch is 615mm. The length of the building manufactured using this method can be practically unlimited although always in 615mm increments. The maximum width of the building is 20m and the maximum height 11m.

Profile JM200/ 615

Load- baring parts of the steel arch buildings: side walls and roof are manufactured by roll-forming profile steel elements from steel sheets. The thickness of the material (S350) is 1.5mm. The height of the profile is 200 mm and useful width 615mm. Profile steel elements are typically 2-7 m in length and the holes for the joints (for stacking bolts M8) are pierced along both edges with 175mm intervals as well as the centre of the profile at the joins.

All stages of the manufacture: roll-forming, piercing, cutting and packaging are carried out by machine ensuring that the coating of the material is not unnecessarily damaged. Manufacture is fully automated which means that the parts are always dimensionally accurate and easily slot into place, rendering a test assembly at the factory unnecessary.

Following the roll-forming, parts such as the eave-, ridge- or roof elements then go through the bending process.

End wall profile (JM75/615)

End walls of the buildings are manufactured from a smaller profile measuring 75mm in height with a useful width of 615mm. This is also well-suited for manufacturing smaller buildings, such as storage yards. A separate range of these will be released at a later date.

The smaller profile can also be bent as well as pierced for joining holes. It is suitable for use as a load-bearing roofing sheet, for example. Thickness of the material is 0.8mm.
